Lichtensteining
Submitted by sinned on Sun, 01/31/2010 - 11:41Hey folks, I'm still here... haven't updated in a while, but school is keeping me pretty busy lately.
I've been working on a project for my humanities class about Roy Lichtensteins work, and while going thru some of my older work, was inspired to do my own take on his style. The image is of Angela Ryan, and took several hours and a lot of experimenting to get what I felt was my own interpretation of Lichtensteins work should be. His work usually relies on brighter colors, whereas I departed from that in using a much darker and richer color scheme. Homage to the Lichtenstein.

Still Working on DFB2009 Wrapup
Submitted by sinned on Thu, 11/19/2009 - 14:55Still working on this, I've got all the film developed, and this weekend I'm going to start posting the images after I get them edited. I did spend all day in the darkroom on Tuesday processing and doing a few prints. I will probably be back at the church on Sunday and / or Thursday to get some more shots, so if you are wanting to pose, let me know and I'll get you some more info. I should have the DFB stuff edited and posted by THIS Saturday I'm hoping.
- good day all

Dallas Fetish Ball 2009 Wrapup coming soon
Submitted by sinned on Mon, 11/16/2009 - 14:37Well, it's technically Monday now, and I'm still recouperating from the event. The ball this year was as usual a blast, and I did things a little bit differently this year. I shot film instead of digital. Got a few looks from folks wondering what that big huge thing was around my neck, after I told them it was a camera, they looked even more confused. Where's the display, how many megapixles were common questions... I just laughed. Maybe next year I'll take in an 8x10 bellows camera just to make things more fun. Got a year to plan it out, so heh heh I'll see what I can come up with.

A Flock of Seagull
Submitted by sinned on Tue, 10/06/2009 - 13:34Well, we have a project due in photo II tomorrow, my interpretation of perception vs. reality, and I'm really bummed out.
This class is all film, no digital. fine, I've worked extensively with film, and I'm not too shabby at black and white printing (helps to have operated my own custom darkroom services for a few years).
So, I'm currently without a film camera because I went digital a number of years ago, and my only remaining film camera, a Yaschicamat 124M developed alzheimers or something. Not to worry, the school let me check out one of their 120 Seagull TLR's. I felt pretty comfortable with it, as it's a Chinese knockoff of the Yaschicamat series. I mean you could easily mistake one for the other if you didn't look too closely.
